Learner Permit

  • You must be at least 16 years old before you can sit the car learner permit test
  • The learner permit test comprises of 32 questions and a pass mark of at least 78% is required
  • Questions are based on the Road To Solo Driving handbook

The following conditions will apply before you can sit your practical drive test:

  • If you are under the age of 21, you w ill be required to undertake a minimum of 120 hours (Including at least 10 hours of night driving) of supervised driving before you can take your licence test
  • You must record these hours in the official learner logbook, which must be signed by you and your supervising driver
  • You must hold your learner permit for at least twelve months
  • Drivers 21 years of age or over but under 25 years of age, you must hold your learner permit for at least six months
  • Drivers 25 years of age or over you must hold your learner permit for at least 3 months

Hazard Perception Test

A VicRoads computer based test comprising of 28 questions, of which you need a minimum 54% score. Your Driving School Melbourne instructor will be pleased to provide you with more information and helpful advice on passing your hazard perception test.
