• New Vicroads Road Rules effective November 2009:
  • When sharing the road with trams, a driver must stop before passing the rear of a stopped tram at a tram stop.
  • Once the tram doors are closed, a driver may then proceed at no more than 10km per hour past the tram.
  • A driver cannot overtake or do a U Turn across a single continuous  centre line
  • It is the responsibilty of the driver to ensure that all passengers in the car are wearing a seatbelt.
  • Learner and P1 drivers, are not permitted to use a mobile phone at all while driving.
